NEWS: Gov. Suntai Returns. Cant walk Unaided.

Suntai, who had been recovering at the Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Centre and Home in New York, United States of America, flew into the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in a chartered aircraft at about noon but journalists were prevented from speaking with him. Only a few photojournalists were allowed to take some guided shots.
One of the close associates of the governor, who would not like to be named, told our correspondent that Suntai was helped down from the aircraft, regretting that after 10 months of treatment in both Germany and the USA, he could still not walk on his own.
“The fact is that he is still recuperating because even at the middle of the aircraft, he could not move but muttered some words which were only audible to those close to him,” the source said.
However, after the brief reception, Mr. John Dara, a personal friend to the governor, told journalists in a chat that he had been in touch with him since the accident and had fully been in the picture.
When asked to assess the governor’s situation, Dara said he was excited but explained that after the long flight from America, he was weak and tired.
He however, stressed that Suntai was able to recognize everyone that came around which, according to him, indicated that he was still mentally alert contrary to speculation in some quarters.
On whether he could run the affairs of Taraba State, Mr. Rime Shawulu, also a friend and former NDDC board member, said it would be up to his doctor to determine when he could resume.
“He was prevented from talking to newsmen because he was weak, but when he must have rested, he can talk to journalists. Though doctors say he is okay, he still has physical challenge on his legs.
“When he goes back to Jalingo and maybe transmits a letter to the House, he can resume, but if he cannot, there are constitutional provisions to follow.  However, he is not in any competition with his deputy,” Shawulu explained.
As at the time of filing this report, family members and associates were making arrangement for the governor to board another chartered flight to Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
It could be recalled that Governor Suntai’s long absence from the seat of power in the state and his ill health had spurred agitations from some quarters for his removal to enable his Deputy, Alhaji Garba Umar who had been acting, take over control of the affairs of the state as governor.
Those who were at the airport include the deputy governor, some members of the state House of Assembly and friends, relations and sympathizers.

EDUCATION: EDUCATION MINISTERS SAYS ASUU STRIKE WILL SOON BE CALLED OFF.

As the indefinite strike embarked upon by the  Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) entered its seventh week, the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, has raised hopes that the impasse with the government would soon be resolved, judging from the level of interaction between both parties.

Rufai, speaking after the mid term policy review meeting of the Four-year Strategic Plan of the ministry in Abuja yesterday, disclosed that the stakeholders’ meeting, which would harmonise all the demands of the various unions in the university system would hold in Abuja today.
Benue State Governor and Chairman, NEEDS Implementation Committee, Gabriel Suswan, would oversee the meeting.
“In terms of where we are with ASUU, you know we have been meeting all these while, and  government is talking with their officials to see to it  that we address these challenges," Rufa'i said.
“We  have a responsibility and we are working on that responsibility, we are going to continue meeting with ASUU tomorrow (today), we hope that by the end of the meeting, we will go a long way in resolving the crisis,” she added.
Speaking earlier during the policy review meeting, the minister reiterated that the sector remains a critical component to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
She identified four issues which should be addressed in order to achieve the set goals: strengthening institutional management of education, teacher education and development, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and Funding, and resource mobilisation and utilisation.
“Education is key to achieving and sustaining the goals of a Nigerian society that must develop its citizens as assets so that they can support the drive for competitive advantage,’’ Rufa'i said.
She noted that in spite of the achievements being recorded in the sector, a lot of challenges still remained unattended to.

SPORTS: Chelsea Baits Wayne Rooney For 25million Pounds.

It is no longer news that Chelsea's "returnee manager" Jose Mourinho is knee on having Manchester united's international Wayne Rooneyon his starting line up for next season. Well he may be close to getting what he wants as it has been officially confirmed that Chelsea has made a 25million pounds bid for the star, an offer which manchester utd has found irresistable as they (Manchester United) have wasted no time in using the money by making an increased £28.9m bid for Cesc Fabregas.
Just hours after Rooney confirmed he was "confused and angry" by his treatment at United, the Stamford Bridge outfit revealed they had made an offer for the 27-year-old.
And Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted it was "Rooney or bust" in his quest to sign him.
But he angrily denied reports that the offer was £10m plus either Juan Mata or David Luiz.
Mourinho and Chelsea have set a limit of £25m for the England star and it looks like the champions will do business if they get a straight cash bid for that amount.
It is understood Rooney has already agreed in principle a similar £220,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge to the one he is currently on at Old Trafford.
United chief executive Ed Woodward yesterday flew back from the club's Australia tour almost certainly to oversee Rooney's departure and attempt to seal Spanish ace Fabregas' arrival.
United are confident they will land the 26-year-old former Arsenal midfielder despite Barca claiming he does not want to leave the Nou Camp.
Speaking after his side's 1-0 win against Singha All-Stars in Bangkok yesterday, Mourinho said: "The situation is clear - nothing is a secret any more.
"The official bid is about a certain amount of money and doesn't involve players. We want the player. We made the bid and now we have nothing more to say.
"Now it is up to Manchester United." Asked if Chelsea had made bids for any other big-name players, Mourinho said: "No, and we won't."

Lagos State Starts Power Generation From Organic Wastes.

ENVIROMENT:

The Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr. Ola Oresanya on wednesday announced that the states Waste-to-Energy project has started generating electricity.
The LAWMA boss disclosed to news men that the electricity generation phase of the project is  currently being run at a demonstration centre in Ikosi market, Ketu area of the state. he further stated that “The bigger ones are located at Olusosun landfill site. Olusosun is now being properly capped to trap the methane and this means the offensive odour from the site will be history once this stage is completed.

“The infrastructure components are being installed at present and soon, the turbines will arrive, but we cannot set a timeline from the completion yet.”

The LAWMA boss added that the waste management sector had been a
blessing to the state and its residents at large, noting that more 524, 000 people have been engaged directly and indirectly in the business of waste management.

According to him, for now, those who are on the payroll of LAWMA are
about 24,000. Those who benefit directly or indirectly from waste management are indeed huge. “If we use the estimate of one person to 15 beneficiaries, we would be talking of about 500,000 people.”

The managing director therefore explained that the statistics definitely “gives us a picture of the size of that economy. It is a huge economy and if well managed, it can be a tool for social development and reform.”

Al-MUSTAPHA IS STILL SOLIDER.

NEWS.

THE Nigerian Army Monday confirmed that Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, is still a soldier in the Nigerian military.
Chief of Staff in the Directorate of the Army Public Relations, Col. John Agim, told journalists at a briefing by the Joint Security Services Public Information Committee that “with regards to Al-Mustapha’s release, well I want confirm that he is still in the Army.
“Throughout his detention and trial that lasted over 15 years, Major Al-Mustapha was receiving his full entitlements as a soldier of the Nigerian Army in the rank of Major.
And since he is a member of the Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 28, Al-Mustapha is going to be asked to apply for voluntary retirement from the Army as members of the course are already in the two-star rank of Major Generals".
Analysts suggests that it isthe best interest of Al-Mustapha to apply for retirement as he has both age and records working in his odds.

BOKO HARAM SECOND IN COMMAND CHALLENGES SHEKUA TO EMBRASS THE CEASEFIRE OPTION.

In what appeared to be an internal crisis in the leadership of the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram sect, Mahammad Marwanu, who claimed to be the second in command of the sect has challenged the leadership of Abubakar Shekau over a ceasefire and dialogue with federal government officials.

Last week Marwanu announced that the sect reached an agreement with federal government delegation on a ceasefire, a statement which was rejected by Shekau in a reported video clip.
However, Marawanu yesterday accused Shekau of being an impediment to peace in the country.

He called on Nigerians to continue to pray, saying nobody among the members of the sect will listen to Shekau, whom he referred to as an interim leader.
Speaking to Voice of America, (VOA) Hausa service, Marwanu said “Between us who are praying for peace and he who prays for violence we are going to see whose prayer will be answered. Everybody is not happy, let him come out and do what said he would do and let us see if it is possible for him to do that.”
He said this time around there would be no deception in the ongoing discussion between the sect and the government.

“In this month of Ramadan we seek for forgiveness from every Muslim and we also forgive all. This is a journey I started and nobody will stop me.
And anybody who resists we will leave him behind and he will be alone, none of the mujahideen will join him.

Boko Haram Denies Cease Fire with FG....Threatens to Bomb more schools.

The Boko Haram sect has denied entering into any ceasefire agreement with the Federal Government.
The group stated this in a new video by its leader, Abubakar Shekau. The video is available to AP and quoted by Huffington Post.
“We will not enter into any agreement with non-believers or the Nigerian government,” Mr. Shekau was quoted as saying in Hausa language.
Mr. Shekau’s statement contradicts that of the federal government.
The Minister of Special Duties and chairman of the presidential task force negotiating with the group, Kabiru Turaki, had said the group had agreed to a ceasefire with his committee. He said the ceasefire would soon be signed publicly with the group.
Mr. Turaki had, however, said his committee did not meet nor negotiate with Mr. Shekau directly, but negotiated with his deputy.

To burn more schools
Mr. Shekau also said in the video that his group was not responsible for killing of school children in Borno and Yobe States.
“We don’t touch small children, we only burn the schools,” he said. “Our religion does not permit us to touch small children and women, we don’t kill children.”
The sect leader’s claim tallies with that announced by Mr. Turaki, who said the sect told his committee that they were not responsible for the attack on a government secondary school in Mamudo. About 28 students and a teacher were killed when gunmen attacked the school, weeks after similar attacks in other parts of Yobe and Borno. Most of the Mamudo students were burnt alive, witnesses had said.
Mr. Shekau, however, said he supported the attacks on the schools and his sect would “burn down the schools, if they are not Islamic religious schools for Allah.”
The Boko Haram leader also said his sect would attack and kill teachers teaching western education.
Attacks by Boko Haram and gunmen have continued- although to a lesser degree, according to residents- in Borno and Yobe despite the declaration of a State of Emergency in the states by President Goodluck Jonathan almost two months ago.

Armored Personeel Carrier Deployed to Guard First Lady's Guest House in Bayelsa.

A few days after the Goodluck Jonathan administration withdrew operatives of the Joint Task Force assigned to protect Government House in Rivers State, SaharaReporters has learnt that the president’s wife, Patience Jonathan, is using soldiers to guard her private guest house in Yenogoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
Earlier this week, the Presidency ordered the withdrawal of JTF operatives guarding the official residence of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a political feud between the governor, on the one hand, and President Jonathan and his wife, on the other, intensified. There was chaos in the chambers of the Rivers State legislature as four state law makers tied to the president and First Lady attempted, but failed, to impeach the speaker. In the aftermath of a bloody confrontation, the Jonathan administration pulled Mr. Amaechi’s security apparatus, which is controlled by the Federal Government.
By contrast, soldiers paid by Nigerian taxpayers are deployed to keep round-the-clock guard at Magels Resort, a commercial guest house owned by Mrs. Jonathan. The guest house has been shut down for several years and is undergoing extensive renovation that began about six weeks ago. In addition to the presence of armed soldiers, a brand new armed personnel carrier is also permanently stationed at the premises of the First Lady’s guest house.
Apart from the guest house, Mrs. Jonathan also owns a five-star hotel in the Okaka area of Yenagoa. The hotel, which construction was recently completed, is also heavily guarded by operatives of the JTF.
Mrs. Jonathan, who is notorious for greed and corruption, has acquired extensive landed properties in both Rivers and Bayelsa states. Her desire to control the politics of her home state of Rivers State is a big element in a simmering political crisis that turned bloody this week. Law makers loyal to Mrs. Jonathan stormed the state legislature with a contingent of thugs in a daring attempt to hijack the leadership of the legislative body.
Outraged by the absurd turn of events, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka called on President Jonathan to restrain his wife’s meddlesomeness in the affairs of Rivers State.
Mrs. Jonathan bankrolled the lavish wedding ceremony of one of the four lawmakers who spearheaded the chaos in the state assembly.

WHO WILL LEAD US? 10 REASONSWHY MANY OF US CAN NEVER RUN FOR OFFICES.

As millennials, we represent the largest and most diverse generation in  history. We are a progressive group of individuals that seeks to have our voices heard. Unfortunately, there are endless pitfalls in the ways we choose to conduct our lives.
Our crazy party antics do not make for the best representation of our group as a whole, which is why our generation will not be able to handle political or government positions in the future. As much as we think we can handle anything that comes our way, taking responsibility for others’ well being — well come on — you think we can handle that?
Let’s take a look at the 10 reasons why we are not suitable to be politicians:

1.SEX SCANDALS;

In an increasingly promiscuous society and a country where divorce rates are at 50%, do you really think our generation will be able to escape any sort of sex scandals? People are obsessed with sex and we all saw how well that worked out for Bill Clinton. Your past will always catch up with you. You know that fling you thought no one knew about? It will most likely resurface if you even make it to a congressional race.
Sex tapes aren’t even accidental releases anymore. People these days (cough Farrah Abraham) are actively seeking out partners because at that moment they think this is a smart idea. Good luck, years down the road when you actually want to do something productive with your life and you have this haunting your every move.

2.SOCIAL MEDIA.

Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Vine, we like to document each and every little thing that goes on in our lives. This is detrimental for an office candidate because that line of coke you thought was funny to videotape will now be made public information. Anything you document on the Internet has a way of resurfacing, no matter how many times you think you’ve deleted it.
Do you really think Nigerians wants to vote for someone who they can Google doing keg stands on the front porch of a frat house or taking his feel of skunk?  No, I think not. Until we realize that uploading every action we make onto social media isn’t a good idea, our pasts will come back to haunt us at any given opportunity.

3. WE ARE LAZY.

We are a spoon-fed generation that has grown accustomed to having everything delivered to us at the snap of a finger. We don’t understand the concept of working above the bare minimum. We relish our 9-5 careers, whereas a government official is always on the clock. What if Obama stopped working at 5? What state do you think the America as a country would be in then?

4. WE QUIT.

When sh*t gets hard, millennials don’t tend to stick around for too long. We lack the motivation previous generations once had and as a result give up when things aren’t going our way. Why take the hard road when the easy road will get us the same payout? If we put in work, we expect results. However, when these results are non-existent, we become discouraged and as a result give up on the task at hand.

5.DRUGS.

Remember when the world made a huge deal out of Obama smoking weed? It went the same for G.W. Bush. Weed is the least of Gen-Y’s worries, considering we pop Molly on the regular. All someone has to do is creep through your Facebook and/or Instagram to find a suspicious picture of you rolling at a house concert. If you thought weed didn’t fly, it sure as hell is going to be a lot worse for ecstasy users. If you are not Fela or Bob marley, then you have nothing showing the would how bad you can be with weed.

6.IMPULSIVE (YOLO).

Our generation is exceedingly impulsive. We never stop to think through what the consequences of our actions truly are. We see something that we believe to be a good idea and we engage in it. Whether it’s a sexual encounter, drug usage or an out of control party — we thrive on it. Why? Because we are thrill seekers, always looking at the next fun activity we can immerse ourselves in. Someone offers you a free drink or free drug, chances are you aren’t going to turn it down.

 7. IMPATIENTS (WE WANT IT NOW).

We want results and we want them now. For the most part, millennials have no patience when trying to achieve success. We expect to see results after working for a year out of college. We don’t want to put in all the hard work to wait years before we can see the outcomes of our efforts.

8. LACK OF MOTIVATION.

Money is not enough to motivate millennials. The reason we take on jobs we hate is to sustain a lifestyle where we can party all night and have as much fun as possible. Our priorities are completely out of whack. Money is only a means to continue to do what we want. We work the bare minimum to take home that paycheck every Friday.
This cannot be the mentality of a person who wishes to obtain a place in office whatsoever. This type of person needs to be intrinsically motivated by providing for the greater good.

9.THE I CANT SYNDROME.

With the job market as it is and how it has been, recent graduates are not getting jobs as fast as they expected. As a result, they are not gaining the experience they would need in order to run for an office position. Until they are able to gain the necessary experience, there is essentially no hope for these people. By the time they garner enough experience, it may be too late for them.
According to The Daily Beast, indebted parents are not leaving their jobs, forcing younger people to put careers on hold. Since 2008, the percentage of the workforce under 25 has dropped 13.2 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while that of people over 55 has risen by 7.6 percent.

10. WE JUST WAN HAMMER!
Many of us wont get far in life, because all we want to do is just "hammer".
We want the fast money, fast cars, pretty babes and all them all. We just want to be like that cool rapper we saw on Channel O.
The only thing an average Nigerian youth would want to be is just like Wizkid, Dbanj and Davido. Makes me ask- Who will lead us?

19 Mistakes to avoid while in your 20's.

Do you have what  it takes to become a monumental success? Or will you live out a life of mediocrity?
The choice is up to you. while many think they have all the answers and the keys to success. we have seen too many times before those people make the same pitfalls.

This is the time for you to hustle, scrap and fight for the life you want for yourself. You manifest your destiny during this crucial years.

Everymove you make is a test..These are 20 mistakes you dont want to make in your 20's.

19. WORKING FOR MONEY, NOT BUILDING YOUR DREAMS.
Never do anything just becauseits convenient for you. Look to challenge yourself and biuld your own dreams instead of building someone else's. Even if it doesnt make sense now, creat something with great value so you can cash out big. Always look to the future and not for immediate compensation. What are you going to do with weekly wages anyways? Stop being so entitled and pretending like you deserve cash, prizes and vacations just yet. You will soon realize once you made it that making money doesnt make you happy. Its a journey.

18. THINKING ITS THE RIGHT TIME TO FALL IN LOVE.
While all your friends might be doing it, dont fall into this trap of getting into a relationship. Sure it seems like the right thing to do, but your twenties are entirely too crucial for your personal growth and not fulfilling the wishes of another individual. Not only does it make you complacent with where you are in life, but it makes you boring. When your business is agt stake and your future is resting on your shoulders, the last thing you need is to be bogged do\wn by an insecure lover rushing you home. Get out there, meet new people, test the limits and have fun. it will take you to the places you dreamed of going.

17. TRYING TO ACT LIKE THE MAN RATHER THAN LEARNING HOW TO BECOME ONE.
Instead of going overboard on gucci monogram and bottles in the club as if you just signed to Rocnation, spend the time focusing on your career. Every second counts and if more time is spent pretending to be the persin you want to be instead of becoming that man, then you will sink in a quick sand without even knowing it. A real man is willing to make sacrifices. If you arent down to put in the work, then please dont act like you are. You can enjoy the success when you actually attain it.

16. GETTING COMFORTABLE LIKE YOU ACTUALLY DESERVE DOWN TIME.
Unless you are fornicating with Victoria secret models in Monaco this weekend, you shouldn't even be thinking about taking a break anytime soon. You need a vacation, what have you accomplished? Mark Cuban spent seven years building out his first business befire he even took a break. Dont get lazy now. NO DULLING !!

15. MAKING FRIENDS INSTEAD OF EARNING TRUST.
The in-crowd may be tempting, but you will probably fall victim to surrounding yourself with social climbers and and bottle wh*res. We know you feel entitled to celebrate, but please relax. Its never attractive to act like its the last you will ever see this in life. Make connections with people based on trial and error, not presuppositions and drunks ranting about what they can do for your business. If you ever want people to take you seriously, then you have to take them seriously.
Just because you think you trust someone doesnt always mean you can. Heed any red flags in the past before jumping into any kind of venture with them.

14. NOT CARING BECAUSE YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (YOLO).
We are all guilty of irrational decisions in our 20's. Fast people and fast times with money in your pocket always leads to over extending yourself. A life of partying, heavy drugs and pretty much having that "YOLO" attitude will leave you flat on your bottom. Get focused and lock into what you are supposed to be doing. If you dont know what that is, then figure that ASAP.

13. MAKING ALL YOU WANT NEEDS.
Expensive women and cheap thrills coupled with the expensive sneakers should not be on your list of needs. Setting the foundstion for your business is more important than updating your wardrobe and chasing sex.
Distinguish between what you want and what you actually need. Make sure your priorities are intact or you will lose track.

12. FORGETTING THAT FAMILY COMES FIRST.
Those who supported you before anything deserves to be taken care of when you reach your success. If you arent doing this for the ones you love, then you arent doing it right. Family comes first no matter what happens.

11. BLAMING ANYONE ELSE BUT YOURSELF.
Hold yourself accountable for everything. at the endof the day, all you have in the world is yourself-so go hard.Dont look to anyone for answers and imstead of making problems, create solutions. Whether it was that job you wanted, the funding you need for your business or the love you think you cant live without, there is no one to be held accountable in the universe except for you.

10. STICKING WITH THE JOB THAT TAUGHT US NOT.
A bad job is like a bitchy girlfriend that gives bad head. Truthfully, the only reason why you are there is because its the safest and easiest thing you kmow. Any job or relationship that allows for you to get comfortable should be avoided at all cost. the last scenario you ever want is becoming like the restof those miserable , 40-somethings faced with weekends and soccer practice.

9. FOLLOWING THE CROWD INSTEAD OF FORGING AGIANST IT.
You can be aware of the trends, but never follow it. Ifall your time is spent trying to adjust to your surroundings, you'll get lost in the crowd all the more easily. Success and greatness are constructed by trendsetters themselves not those latched on whats currently trending. I hope you dont have any aspirations of to look like your favorite rapper.  Temptation to be influenced by those who youn aspire to be like is easy, but no one finds their calling following the footsteps of another.

8. FAILING TO ENERGIZE THOSE AROUND YOU.
Although you may sometimes think there is a lack of talent in yournetworks- this is never the case. it is your sole responsibility to inspire, encourage and drive those around you to success failing to do so confirms that you fall victim to that which you accuse others of.
Change and greatness can be sparked everywhere, but bring it upon yourself to trigger it.

7. THINK YOU NEED TO STOP LEARNING AND GROWING.
You habe more zeros at the end of your bank statement, stamps in your passport and women in your bed than you ever imagined, dont consider this as your victory lap, but rather as a test of greatness. Do you liveto enjoy the moments you dreamed of or a lifetime of unimaginable success? The common misconception that once things are in your favour, you no longer have to put in the 3:00am work hours is a dangerous problem. The fewer nights you are willing to put in the work, the fewer opportunities you will have to celebrate your achievements in the future.

6.THINKING YOU WOULD BE PAID BACK.
Your 20's will be accompanied with a slew of poor investements by yourself and those around. Whether rich or poor, there will always be someone in your circle that will need a helping hand. If you ever think you are going to get the money back, you are solely mistaken. If there where a plan of action or re-investment, then the truth is that you will not see #1 back. Times are tough, especially in your 20's and finding a route back to your financial freedom is often seen when winning a lotto or signing your first deal with Cash Money Records. Of course, miracles do happen, but the probabilities that you have esentially given money away are far too high.

5. SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN WHO AREN'T ESCORTS.
You sex life is an investment- and the smarter the deals you execute, the savvier you become. Free sex is the most expensive sex in the world. Instead of navigating through an ambgious investement in which you shower your woman with and prizes for mediocre sex provided, deal with a professional. But in your 20's, the best form of sex to have apart from that from an excort is abstinence.

4. HOLDING ON TO FRIENDS AND THOSE WHO DONT ADD VALUE TO YOUR LIFE.
You will be sucked down into the abyss with them if you don't cut the fat of the group.
Family and friends could have been great to you as a child, but if they no longer hold the value and inspiration that is needed for you to thrive in life, then cut them loose. the only individuals you should surround yourself with are those who challange your ideas and motivate you to find the next solutions to your problems. No! not the pessimistic a*ss who shoot down your ideas with their negativity, but the ones who genuinely wants you to succeed no matter what.

3. FORGETTING ABOUT THE PIGGY BANK AND SPENDING EVERY NAIRA YOU GET.
If you blow away the money as soon as it comes just for immediate gratifications, then you are in for a wild ride down poverty. The truth is its about making more money, not saving it. But at the same time, if you hsve no means for expanding your revenue channels, then you must be ready to save a few dough here and there.

2. DATING UNSTABLE WOMEN WITH MOMMY AND DADDY ISSUES.
