The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), has called off their nationwide strike which lasted for about 81 days.
This came after the ASUP Chairman, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, told Vanguard in a Telephone interview that the decision made by the National Executive Committee of the Union was as a result of the intervention of the Joint committee of the Senate and House of Representative on Education. The chairman also stressed that the union is giving the government representatives one month to meet their demands of face futher strike action from the union.
Dr. Asumogba however called on all lecturers to go back to work. “All lecturers are to resume work at their various institutions today”.
We do hope that ASUU should follow their lead and call off theres....LOL
